3 Reasons Families Choose
Arise & Shine Christian Academy

Arise & Shine is a small, Christ-centered K–8 hybrid homeschool in Buckingham for families around Fort Myers who want support without giving up the homeschool life. Here are three of the biggest reasons parents tell us they choose ASCA.

01

A Gentle, Part-Week Rhythm That Fits Family Life

On-campus learning happens Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 to 2:15 in multi-age classes of about 10–15 students. The rest of the week, lessons are written out for you so learning continues at home. Parents stay the primary educators, and the school comes alongside you instead of replacing you.

02

Hands-On, Unit-Based Learning With Faith at the Center

Students learn through Gather 'Round unit studies, with a new unit every five weeks that ties subjects together. Lessons are discussion based, project based, and filled with hands-on activities, electives, and regular field trips. Bible and a Christ-centered worldview are woven into the school day.

Scholarships That Make Tuition Truly Attainable

Arise & Shine is an approved Step Up for Students and PEP provider. A typical PEP award is around $8,000 per student, while ASCA tuition is $4,560. For most qualified families, that means tuition can be fully covered, with scholarship funds left over for curriculum and supplies.

Questions Parents Ask Us

We talk to a lot of Fort Myers families considering Arise & Shine. These are the questions that come up most. If yours isn't here, bring it to your visit.

01

What ages and grades does Arise & Shine serve?

Arise & Shine is a small K–8 hybrid homeschool program. Students learn in multi-age classes of about 10–15 children, grouped by stage as much as by age. If your child is near that range or you're not sure where they fit, come visit anyway. We'll talk with you honestly about whether we're the right place for your family.

02

Do we have to already be homeschooling to enroll?

No. Some of our families are already homeschooling on their own. Others are coming out of public or private school because it's not working and they don't want to go it alone at home. On your visit we'll walk through your situation and how a two-day hybrid rhythm could work for your child and your week.

03

What does a typical week at Arise & Shine look like?

Students are on campus in Buckingham on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 to 2:15. Those days are filled with Christ-centered unit studies, hands-on electives, and small-group discussion. The rest of the week, learning continues at home with you using clear, written-out lessons. Units usually run on a five-weeks-on, one-week-off rhythm, with a field trip each unit.

04

How do Step Up and PEP work with tuition?

Arise & Shine is an approved Step Up for Students and PEP provider. For most qualified families, Step Up or PEP covers the full cost of tuition at Arise & Shine, and many families still have funds available for curriculum and materials. At your visit we'll walk you through how it works and what it could look like for your child.
